College Women’s Lacrosse Final – Guilford 23, Salem 1

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Holly Kozak scored a career-high seven points in Guilford College’s 23-1 lacrosse victory over visiting Salem College Saturday.

Madison Iandoli added four goals as the Quakers (4-3) captured their second straight win.

Kozak scored all five of her goals and both of her assists in the first half as the Quakers raced to a 16-0 halftime lead. She scored 13 seconds after a Nia Gill goal to give Guilford an early 3-0 lead. Seven different Quakers scored in the first half.

Amber Dubois, Cat Thresher, and Audrey Helfenbein each netted three scores. Helfenbein and Iandoli both added assists. Nia Gill compiled a goal, an assist, a game-high nine draws, and five ground balls. Kersten Daneau played 41 minutes in goal and made both of Guilford’s saves in the game.

Madison McCarthy scored a second-half goal for the first-year Spirits (1-10), who were outshot, 30-3. Hannah Ostlund had six saves and two ground balls in 45 minutes in goal.

Coach Charlotte Dixon’s Quakers visit Roanoke College Wednesday (3/21) to open Old Dominion Athletic Conference play.
