Elon Track and Field Wraps-Up Outdoor Opener at 49er Classic

ELON, N.C. – Bre’anna Warren set a new personal-record in the shot put as the Elon University women’s track and field team finished its competition at the 49er Classic on Saturday, March 17, at the Irwin Belk Track and Field Center.

RESULTS

Warren had a throw of 48′ 4.75″ (14.75m) in the shot put and was third overall in the event for Elon. Senior teammate Bryanna Hames also garnered a top-five standing in the event as the Charlotte, N.C., native finished with a mark of 46′ 4.25″ (14.13m). Skylar Barthelmes was 15th with her heave of 41′ 2.5″ (12.56m). Barthelmes was also 15th in the javelin throw. The Dartmouth, Mass., native had a throw of 123′ 0″ (37.51m) overall.

In the high jump, Moira O’Malley was 11th overall with a cleared height of 5′ 2.25″ (1.58m). Lauren Brzozowski ran a time of 25.73 in the 200-meters for the Phoenix.

The 4×400-meter relay team for Elon finished with a time of 3:54.48, good for ninth overall at the meet. The 4×100-meter relay team clocked a 49.14 for the Phoenix.

The Phoenix is back in action next weekend, March 23-24, at the USC/Winthrop Invitational in Columbia, S.C.
