Elon’s Stonehouse Named CAA Baseball Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – After helping the Elon University baseball team to a three-game sweep of Rider, Phoenix infielder and outfielder Garrett Stonehouse has been selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Baseball Player of the Week as announced by the league on Monday, March 19. It is the first weekly conference honor of Stonehouse’s career.

Stonehouse, a sophomore from Westport, Conn., batted .583 (7-for-12) with three doubles, a homer, six runs scored and nine RBI in Elon’s sweep of the Broncs. He went a career-best 5-for-6 with two doubles, a homer (the first of his career), five RBI and four runs scored in Saturday’s victory and followed by going 2-for-4 and driving in three on Sunday. For the year, Stonehouse is hitting .308 with nine runs scored, three doubles, one home run and 10 RBI in 17 games.
