College Women’s Lacrosse Final – Guilford 20, Randolph 4

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Nia Gill and Madison Iandoli both scored five goals in Guilford College’s 20-4 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) lacrosse win over visiting Randolph College Saturday.

The Quakers (5-4, 1-1 ODAC) raced to a 13-4 halftime lead behind four Carter MacLeod scores and three tallies by Abigail Horchar. Gill scored three second-half goals as the Quakers controlled play for most of the game, which was played in intermittent rain and snow showers.

Gill, MacLeod, and Iandoli each scored twice as Guilford grabbed a 7-0 lead 12:23 into the game. Randolph (1-5, 0-1 ODAC) responded with three of the next five goals to get within 9-3 but managed just one tally the rest of the game.

Iandoli had a solid all-around game in the midfield. In addition to her five goals, she also had an assist, five draw controls, four caused turnovers, and four ground balls. Gill added two assists for a career- and game-best seven points, and also picked up five draws. Cat Thresher contributed a goal and two assists off the bench and Audrey Helfenbein also had two helpers in the game. Sarah Sedaghat played all 60 minutes in goal and made 10 saves.

Rachel Buxton and Hannah Bradley both scored twice for the WildCats. Chrissy Shackleford made nine saves and picked up a team-high five ground balls.

Coach Charlotte Dixon’s Quakers visit Greensboro College Wednesday (3/28) in a nonconference match at 3:30 p.m.
