College Women’s Tennis Final – Sweet Briar 9, Guilford 0

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Visiting Sweet Briar College claimed a 9-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women’s tennis win over Guilford College Saturday.

The Vixens (4-5, 1-3 ODAC) jumped to a 3-0 lead by sweeping the doubles matches. A.J. Lukanuski and Emily Wandling won the first-doubles contest, 8-0, over the Quakers’ Brooklyn Hopkins and Makayla McLaurin. Anna Colvin and Samantha Yew took the second-doubles tilt, 8-2.

Wandling downed McLaurin at first singles, 6-1, 6-0, and Lukanuski dropped just two games in a 6-1, 6-1, win over Hopkins and second singles. Yew and teammate Lexi Culley recorded 6-0, 6-0, wins at fourth and fifth singles, respectively.

Coach Dave McCain’s Quakers (0-8, 0-5 ODAC) host league-foe Randolph College Saturday (3/31) at 12 noon.
