Game Report on Southern Alamance vs Williams Softball:SA Patriots are (9-0)

Four hits from Layla Burnette helped lead the way for Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity over Williams 18-1 on Tuesday. Burnette singled in the first, singled in the third, singled in the fourth, and singled in the fourth.

Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity got things started in the first inning when Abi Stuart singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity scored nine runs in the fourth inning. Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity’s big inning was driven by singles by Shayli Martin, Emily Byrd, Burnette, and Mason Richmond and a triple by Kam Silver.

Isley Duggins was the winning pitcher for Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity. She lasted three innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out two and walking one. Lauren Staley threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Staley recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity.

Ivey Toy took the loss for Williams. She allowed 21 hits and 18 runs over four innings, striking out four.

Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity racked up 21 hits. Burnette, Byrd, Staley, Richmond , and Sidney Martin all managed multiple hits for Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity. Byrd and Burnette each managed four hits to lead Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity.

Williams was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Kenzie Talhelm had the most chances in the field with six.
