HPU Women’s Golf Finishes First Day of Charleston Invitational

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. — The High Point University women’s golf team sits in 14th place after two rounds of the Charleston Invitational Monday (April 2) at the RiverTowne Country Club (Par 72 – 5,988 yards) in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.

The Panthers are in 14th place after shooting a first-round 309 and second-round 305, totaling 614 (+38). Coastal Carolina leads the team standings at 573.

Sophomore Tonrak Tasaso leads the Panthers after shooting a pair of 3-over 75’s. Tasaso is in a tie for 31st at 150. Senior Cayla Smith is tied for 53rd at 155, while sophomore Samantha Vodry is a shot behind in a tie for 57th at 156.

Freshman Caitie Gehlhausen is in 83rd at 166, while fellow freshman Anna Holmberg has a two-round score of 170 for 84th.

The third and final round is scheduled to begin at 8:45 a.m. with a shotgun start.
