Elon’s Hamm Earns CAA Women’s Golfer of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – After capturing medalist honors at the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate, Elon’s Aurelia Hamm has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Golfer of the Week. This is the first such honor for Hamm.

The junior from Cannes, France, carded a career-low round of 67 during the final round of the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate to claim her first-career individual medalist honor. It also marked the first top-10 finish of her career. Hamm finished the two-round tournament at four-under (73-67–140), three strokes ahead of the runner-up and was only one of two golfers to finisher under on the par-72, 6,077-yard course. As a team, the Phoenix placed third in the 16-team field. The 140 was the lowest 36-hole score of her career in the maroon and gold.

Hamm and the Phoenix will wrap up the year at the 2018 CAA Championships. That event begins on Saturday, April 13, at St. James Plantation in Southport, N.C.
