MAKING A SPLASH: SERGIO CARDS A 13 ON THE 15TH
Sergio Garcia hit four beautiful iron shots, all landed on the green a few feet from the hole, and all of them rolled into the water. Last year’s green jacket recipient ended up needing 13 shots to finish the 15th hole, which coincidentally is the exact same number of shots I took when I was 15 in what ended up being a horrible, horrible evening. Like putting on a bandaid blindfolded, Sergio’s definitely missing the cut…

SPIETH CATCHES FIRE, SHOOTS 66

TIGER COMES BACK TO EARTH
After bogeying No. 12, El Tigre was at +3 and fading, so ending up at +1 (T29) wasn’t the worst result for the world’s most popular golfer. It would be amazing to him bounce back into contention with a round in the 60s today.
