Elon’s Warren Garners Second CAA Field Weekly Award

RICHMOND, Va. – For the second time in the past three weeks, senior Bre’anna Warren of the Elon University women’s track and field team was selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Field Athlete of the Week as released by the league office on Tuesday, April 10.

Warren took her second weekly honor after earning two event victories at the VertKlasse Meeting last Friday, April 6, at High Point University. The Greensboro, N.C., native won the title in the discus as she set a new personal-record with a toss of 167′ 4″ (51.01m) – the best throw in the CAA so far this season. Warren followed with a win in the shot put with a 47′ 5″ (14.45m) throw.

Warren picked up her second weekly accolade of the season as she was also honored on March 27. This is the third straight week that the Phoenix has received the league’s weekly honor with Bryanna Hames (Field) and Coralea Geraniotis (Track) being recipients last week.

Elon is back in competition this Saturday, April 14, with its annual home meet, the Phoenix Invitational. The meet is scheduled for a 10 a.m. start time at the Jerry and Jeanne Robertson Track and Field Complex.
