Moore’s Walkoff Seals the Deal in Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity Victory Over Asheboro

A walk-off single led Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity past Asheboro 2-1 on Tuesday. The game was tied at one with Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity batting in the bottom of the eighth when Allison Moore singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Isley Duggins struck out eight, while Megan Banker sat down five.

In the top of the seventh inning, Asheboro tied things up at one. Catie Firquette singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Duggins took the win for Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity. She surrendered one run on seven hits over eight innings, striking out eight.

Banker took the loss for Asheboro. She allowed ten hits and two runs over seven and two-thirds innings, striking out five.

Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity saw the ball well today, racking up ten hits in the game. Moore and Sidney Martin each managed multiple hits for Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity. Sidney Martin and Moore all had three hits to lead Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity.

Asheboro didn’t commit a single error in the field. Erin Devilbliss had the most chances in the field with nine.
