GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College women’s lacrosse team defeated the Panthers of Ferrum College Tuesday in the first round of the USA South Tournament, 15-10.

The Pride offense caught fire in the first 10 minutes of the game, as they put up seven consecutive goals to take an early 7-0 lead.

Scoring for the Pride were Kara Whitson (3) Laine Walston (2) and Peyton Joyce (2).

The Panthers were able to put up their first goal of the game just one minute after the Pride’s run.

Both teams were able to tack on three more goals, but the Pride went into the half with a 10-4 lead.

At the start of the second half, Ferrum got the jump on Greensboro and recorded three consecutive goals to cut the deficit to 10-7.

The Pride refused to let the Panthers catch up.
