Elon Phoenix Wraps Up Day One of Clemson Men’s Golf Invitational

SALEM, S.C. – Elon University men’s golf completed the first two rounds of action at the Clemson Invitational on Friday, April 13, at The Cliffs at Keowee Falls. With bad weather expected in Sunday’s forecast, 36 holes were played on Friday and the tournament will conclude on Saturday with the final round.

RESULTS

The Phoenix (310-299–609) currently sits in 10th place after the first 36 holes of action. Boston College currently leads Notre Dame by one stroke after two rounds. Tournament host Clemson trails the leader by eight strokes.

HIGHLIGHTS
Jake Leavitt and Charlie May each paced the Phoenix on day one and are each tied for 23rd on the individual leaderboard. The duo combined for 15 birdies on the day. Leavitt made a team-high eight during the first day, including five in the second round.

Philip Loeb is two strokes behind Leavitt and May. He is currently tied for 34th overall heading into Saturday’s final round. William Harwood turned in his scorecard tied for 54th individually after making five birdies for the Phoenix. Patrick Frodigh currently sits in a tie for 59th.
