Guilford Track & Field Competed at ODAC Championships

BRIDGEWATER, Va. — The Guilford College track and field teams competed at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships on Friday. The event is hosted by Bridgewater College.

Sprinter Carmen Curtis had two strong performances on Friday. The freshman posted the second fastest Quaker 200M time after running a 27:56. She was 10th of the 16 competitors. In the 100M Curtis tied for 10th after running 13:57–the sixth fastest 100 in Guilford history.

On the men’s side, Josephus Mitchell advanced to Saturday’s final in the 100M. The senior was the seventh fastest runner after clocking an 11:47. Freshman Asa Bell was 11th (11:66) and junior Mahmoud Henderson placed 15th (12:31) for Guilford.

Jeremiah Hedrick recorded a 6.24 mark in the long jump. The sophomore placed ninth, just missing a trip to Saturday’s final.

Freshman Alex Heck was 18th in the shot put (6.46M) and finished 17th in the hammer (19.35M).

The two-day meet ends on Saturday.
