Adkins posts red figures to lead Boys Division
Holder leads Girls Division by two strokes

Daniel Adkins of Holly Springs, North Carolina, fired an opening-round 3-under-par 69 to grab the lead in the Boys Division, as well as the overall low round score. The 15-year-old carded three of his five total birdies on par-5 holes to finish under-par on both nines.
Ayush Bodhale of Huntersville, North Carolina, sits two strokes off the lead in second place after recording a 1-under-par 71 in the first round. The 15-year-old began the round 3-over-par through his first three holes but recovered to birdie three of his next four holes. Bodhale totaled five birdies on the day, two of which came on par-5 holes.
Rasmus Eriksson of (Sweden) Suwanee, Georgia, is currently in third place after posting an even-par 72 in the first round. The 17-year-old carded a total of four birdies and shot 1-under-par 35 on the front nine.
Chloe Holder of Williamston, South Carolina, sits atop the Girls Division leaderboard after carding an opening-round score of 3-over-par 75. Holder recorded three birdies on the day, including one on the par-5 18th hole that lifted the 15-year-old into first place by herself.
Phoebe Carles of Clinton, South Carolina, is currently in second place with a 5-over-par 77. Carles birdied the par-4 fifth hole, then rounded off the back nine with four-straight pars to finish two strokes off the lead.
Two players are T3 after the first round. Karlee Vardas of Lexington, South Carolina, and Lauren Martin of Mooresville, North Carolina, shot 6-over-par 78. Vardas recorded her lone birdie of the day on the par-4 10th hole, while Martin had a string of five-straight pars on the front nine.
In the Boys Division, there were a total of 29 pars and 18 birdies recorded on the par-5 14th hole, which measures the longest at 525 yards.
In the Girls Division, there were four pars recorded on the par-5 third hole, which measures the longest at 475 yards.

Carles goes low for first AJGA win
Bodhale holds on late for win in Boys Division

Phoebe Carles of Clinton, South Carolina, won the Girls Division Medal after shooting a tournament-total 3-over-par 147. “I was just going out there and I wasn’t trying to overthink it or anything,” said Carles, who began the final round two strokes off the lead, but carded a pair of birdies in her first four holes that helped the 16-year-old climb to the top of the leaderboard for good. “I didn’t three-putt this whole entire tournament,” continued Carles. “It was just confidence around the [greens], feeling like I could make any of those.” Her final-round score of 2-under-par 70 was also the overall low round in the Girls Division.
Chloe Holder of Williamston, South Carolina, finished second with a 4-over-par 76 in the final round and a tournament-total 7-over-par 151. Holder carded back-to-back birdies on the par-3 15th and par-4 16th holes.
Lauren Martin of Mooresville, North Carolina, rounded out the Girls Division Top-3 with a 3-over-par 75 in the final round to end the tournament 9-over-par 153. The 15-year-old recorded a total of two birdies, and finished the final round with three-straight pars.
Ayush Bodhale of Huntersville, North Carolina, won the Boys Division after shooting a 5-over-par 77 in the final round for a tournament-total score of 4-over-par 148. “I’m proud of myself for staying focused during the round,” said the 15-year-old, who shot 4-over-par on the front nine, but recorded two birdies on the back nine – his only birdies for the round – to stay in contention up until the final hole. “I had a stretch where I made five bogeys in a row through the turn, and I really didn’t think I had a chance,” Bodhale went on to say. “I just kept focusing and playing hard. I knew I had it, and I pulled through.” Bodhale clinched his first AJGA win with a par on the final hole – the par-5 18th.
Two players finished T2. Luke Edwards of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and Rasmus Eriksson of (Sweden) Suwanee, Georgia, posted a tournament-total 5-over-par 149. Edwards finished 2-over-par 74 in the final round, carding an eagle on the 18th hole to enter the clubhouse one stroke behind Bodhale. The 15-year-old also carded three birdies for the round. Eriksson shot a 5-over-par 77 in the final round, ending the day with three-straight pars.
Daniel Adkins of Holly Springs, North Carolina, finished fourth with a 9-over-par 81 in the final round and a tournament-total 6-over-par 150. Adkins had a birdie on the par-5 third hole in addition to shooting pars on his last three holes.
Jaron Leasure of Virginia Beach, Virginia, posted a 5-over-par 77 for the final round and 7-over-par 151 for the tournament, placing fifth to round out the Boys Division Top-5. The 16-year-old recorded a pair of birdies in the final round.
Grace Huffman of Lexington, Virginia, holed out from 139 yards on the par-3 13th hole for her first career hole-in-one.
