RICHMOND, Va. – Senior Bryanna Hames and junior Coralea Geraniotis of the Elon University women’s track and field team were selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Field and Track Athlete of the Week, respectively, for the second time this season as released on Tuesday, April 24.

Both athletes shared their respective awards with Hames garnering co-weekly accolades with Leia Mistowski of William & Mary. Geraniotis and Towson’s Megan Kelly shared the league’s track accolade.

Geraniotis collects her second CAA Women’s Track Athlete of the Season after the Orleans, Mass., native broke her own school-record in the 5,000-meters last Saturday, April 21, at the Duke Invitational. Geraniotis’ time of 16:19.47 in the race was a 10-second personal-record as she finished third overall in the event. That time is the best in the CAA and sits 31st on the NCAA East Preliminary outdoor list. Geraniotis also set a new personal-best in the 1,500-meters with a time of 4:25.63 – the third-fastest time in school history.

Hames also gathered her second weekly award this season after the Charlotte, N.C., won the discus throw at the Duke Invitational. She threw a season-best mark of 170′ 11″ (52.11m) at the meet, good for 22nd overall on the NCAA East Prelims list to date. Hames also had a top-five standing in the shot put at the meet with a throw of 48′ 10.75″ (14.90m).
