College Softball Final: Eastern Mennonite 4, Guilford 0

SALEM, Va. – Kelsi Martin pitched a complete game shutout and had a home run as Eastern Mennonite University defeated Guilford College, 4-0, in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference softball tournament game on Saturday.

The loss eliminated the Quakers from the championship and ended their season 18-24 overall.

Guilford outhit the Royals, 9-6. Makayla Crawford, Anna Wolfe, Katie McNeill and Laura Thompson all had two hits for GC. The Quakers, however, left 12 runners on base.

Courtney Lackey took the loss for Guilford. She dropped to 8-10 on the season and allowed three runs and five Eastern Mennonite hits. Julie Gough tossed the final 2 1/3 innings and gave up one run and one hit.

Martin improved to 11-5 on the season. Madson Cash went 2-3 with two RBI for EMU. The Royals advanced in the tournament with a 21-18 record.
