Game Report on Southern Alamance-Southern Guilford Softball:SA Patriots do not look back as they go Unbeaten(12-0) in Mid-Piedmont 3-A Conference

Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity defeated Southern Guilford 23-0 on Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Lauren Staley induced a double-play from Emily Morgan to finish off the game.

Staley collected four hits in four at bats to help lead Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity to victory. Staley tripled in the first, homered in the first, singled in the second, and tripled in the third.

One bright spot for Southern Guilford was a single by Emma Yount in the first inning.

Isley Duggins led the Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity to victory on the pitcher’s mound. She allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out three and walking zero. Staley threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Staley recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity.

Morgan took the loss for Southern Guilford. She allowed four hits and three runs over one inning, walking one.
