Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity Defeats Southeast Guilford in Blow Out Victory Thanks to Fourth Inning Boost.

Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity defeated Southeast Guilford 16-2 on Tuesday thanks to a timely nine runs in a big fourth inning. Isley Duggins, Layla Burnette, Allison Moore, Abi Stuart, Shayli Martin, and Lauren Staley each drove in runs during the inning.

Southeast Guilford opened up scoring in the first inning. Seamans drove in one when she singled.

Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity pulled away for good with six runs in the second inning. In the second Moore singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, Stuart singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Duggins singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs, and Emily Byrd singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity tallied nine runs in the fourth inning. Duggins, Burnette, Moore, Stuart, Martin, and Staley all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Duggins led the Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity to victory on the pitcher’s mound. She went five innings, allowing two runs on seven hits, striking out two and walking one.

Hairston took the loss for Southeast Guilford. She surrendered 11 runs on 13 hits over three innings, striking out two.

Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity tallied 17 hits. Duggins, Moore, Staley, Stuart, Martin, Burnette, and Byrd each had multiple hits for Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity. Duggins went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity in hits.

Hairston led Southeast Guilford with two hits in four at bats.
