*****Tuesday night you had Southeast Guilford over Western Guilford(SEG wins 6-1) and Wilmington New Hanover over Eastern Guilford(14-0, New Hanover with the victory) in Round One Baseball, plus West Forsyth eliminated Ragsdale(11-0) in Round One NCHSAA Softball Playoff action….Sort of surprised to see Southwestern Randolph lose at home to Burns, but Burns had a strong team and a very strong starting pitcher coming into Randolph County….
Six Guilford County baseball teams now remaining in the hunt/race, and they are Southeast Guilford, Southwest Guilford, Northwest Guilford, Grimsley, Page and Ragsdale….*****

+++++Tonight we have these games lined up for you…+++++

#21 Page(14-10) at #12 Grimsley(12-11) at 7pm….Winner of this game will travel to South Caldwell(22-3) for Round Two action on Friday or Saturday….Tonight we are looking for C.J. Neese on the mound for Grimsley and we will watch for Jake Knapp, to take the hill for Page…No playing around at this stage of the season, got to go with your top horse in this first race of the playoffs, to even have a chance to make it on to Round Two, or at least that is how we see it working in this matchup here….

  • Andy Durham said,

Wonder who people are taking tonight, Grimsley or Page???

A few people downtown were saying they thought this game might be bigger and more important than the football game, since this is for the playoffs and for the loser of this game, their season is over….

You would think Grimsley would have the edge since they are at home and Grimsley should have the most fans at this game since it is at their place, but I guess you never know, maybe Page will put the word out and tell their fans to get on over to Grimsley for this game….

The way it is going in, Grimsley would seem to a large fans base that will turn out for this game this evening and you would expect the Whirlies to really be whooping it up and making some big-time noise and that home fan-base could give Grimsley the edge they are looking for…

    We shall see…..
