GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College Department of Athletics held its first annual An Evening of Pride & Excellence Dinner & Silent Auction Thursday.

“Last night was a dynamic evening,” Director of Athletics Bryan Galuski said. “I am so proud of our staff and their commitment to making our first annual “An Evening of Pride & Excellence” dinner and silent auction a huge success.

“I would like to thank Dave Hanners for his time and for doing an excellent job in delivering his speech to our guests. I would also like to thank all of our guests for their support and generosity. The evening was packed with many memorable memories and we are already looking forward to planning for next year.”

The event was held at the Greensboro Culture Center and the Van Dyke Performance Space.

The evening started out with a silent auction that featured over 120 items, along with 20 raffle items.

Following the silent auction, the over 200 attendees moved into the Van Dyke Performance Space for dinner where emcee, WXII New 12 Sports Director, Brian Formica welcomed the crowd in attendance before introducing the evening’s key note speaker, Dave Hanners.

While addressing the audience, Hanners talked about chasing and pursuing excellence.

Hanners also spoke about his time as a member of the UNC Tar Heels men’s basketball team before joining the coaching ranks on the college and professional levels.
