Elon Concludes Run at NCAA East Prelims

TAMPA, Fla. – The Elon University women’s track and field team concluded its season today, May 26, as the Phoenix wrapped up competition at the 2018 NCAA East Preliminaries with junior Coralea Geraniotis racing in the 5,000-meters at the USF Track and Field Stadium.

Geraniotis made her debut at the NCAA Regional meet and raced in the 5,000-meters against some of the toughest competitors in the country. The Orleans, Mass., native was able to finish in the top-25 of the event after clocking a 16:38.52 in the race.

The meet closed out Geraniotis’ great 2018 junior outdoor campaign where she was a Colonial Athletic Association champion in both the 5,000 and the 10,000-meters and also twice set a new school-record in the 5,000-meters. She also set a new personal-record in the 1,500-meters as well and twice received CAA Track Athlete of the Week accolades.
