Jaudon, Thomas Named Elon Team Captains for 2018 Volleyball Campaign

ELON, N.C. – Elon University rising senior Maddie Jaudon and rising junior Nori Thomas have been tabbed team captains for the upcoming 2018 volleyball campaign, the first for the Phoenix inside Schar Center.

“I am very confident Maddie and Nori will continue to lead our team in the right direction as we move into the 2018 season,” said Elon head coach Mary Tendler. “They have different personalities and their strengths complement each other well. Both individuals have a great work ethic and are very invested in helping our team rise to the top of the CAA.”

Jaudon closed her junior season in maroon and gold with 1,434 career digs, giving her the fourth-most in program history. In 2017, Jaudon finished with 529 digs to place as the fifth-highest mark in a campaign in program history while falling just a few short of the most in a Division I campaign for the Phoenix. Playing 344 sets to date, Jaudon averages 4.17 digs per set and has also served 62 aces after a career-high 24 during her junior season. The Batavia, Ill., native also has 230 assists to her name thus far.

Thomas had a breakout sophomore campaign in 2017 in playing 93 sets with 147 kills, 39 blocks and 31 digs. Each mark set new career highs for the Stafford, Va., native. Thomas appeared in 31 of the team’s 32 matches throughout the season and recorded double-digit kills on two occasions – both in CAA play – against William & Mary on Sept. 28 and on Oct. 25. She also had a season-best four blocks at Northeastern on Oct. 8 and four digs in the Sept. 28 match against the Tribe.
