BREVARD, N.C.-The Greensboro College men’s soccer team outlasted the tornados of Brevard College Sunday, 2-1.

Greensboro outshot Brevard 8-5 in the first half, but neither team was able to record a goal in the first half.

The score was tied at zero, until the 77th minute when William Curry assisted Carlos Barragan to put the Pride up, 1-0.

Less than three minutes later, the Tornados answered back and tied the game at one.

Greensboro continued to outshoot Brevard, but the win was still on the line with less than four minutes remaining in the contest.

Gerardo Peraza and Curry helped break the tie as they assisted Jordy Briceno to secure the one-goal victory.

“It was good to get a win on the road,” Head Coach Tony Falvino said. “It was a physical match for both teams and everyone fought hard for the entire game.

“I am happy with the character we showed to come away with the win. Now we have to focus on another tough conference opponent Wednesday.”

Ryan Burgess moves on to a 3-0 record after earning the win in the goal for the Pride.

Greensboro will return to Pride Field Wednesday when they host USA South opponent Methodist University at 4 p.m. For more information on Greensboro College men’s soccer, continue to follow www.greensborocollegesports.com.
