Game Report on Northwest Guilford-Eastern Guilford Boys Basketball:Hampton and Rieber steer Vikings to victory over the EG Wildcats

NORTHWEST GUILFORD 63, EASTERN GUILFORD 54

GAME NOTES:
–The two teams battled early with a 19-16 score at the end of the first quarter. The Vikings got out to a hot start in the second quarter sparked by Christian Hampton and Dean Rieber on the offensive end. The Wildcats continued to battle into the second half with continuous scoring from K. Dawkins and O. Johnson but where ultimately couldn’t overcome the Vikings late run in the fourth quarter. Johnny Pagano and Brandon Thomas contributed quality minutes on the defensive end to help propel the Viking victory.

–Christian Hampton and Dean Rieber led Northwest with 20 and 18 points respectively. Rieber also added 10 rebounds to give him a double double. Johnny Pagano and Brandon Thomas added 6 and 7 points as well as great effort on the defensive end. Robbie Boulton added 4 points and 4 assists. Shaq Marsh contributed quality minutes down the stretch contributing 4 points including two crucial free throws to propel the Vikings late. Khari Carson and Landry Garris added two points each.

–K. Dawkins and O Johnson led the wildcats with 18 and 15 points respectively. N. Cheely contributed 12 points, followed by N.White J Matthews and Z. Connor with 4, 3 and 2 points.
