Parkland won it’s second game in as many nights, scoring the first 12 points of the second half to defeat East Forsyth 68-49 in Kernersville Thursday night. The Mustangs beat Lexington 58-53 in their season-opener at Parkland on Wednesday.

The game was moved up a night from it’s originally scheduled date to accommodate the Eagles’ third-round game in the state 4A football playoffs tomorrow night at home against Greensboro Grimsley.

East Forsyth controlled the tempo in the first half and led until late in the second quarter, when Parkland capitalized on Eagles’ turnovers to take a 26-22 lead into the halftime break. But Parkland stretched the lead to 38-22 in the opening four minutes of the third quarter and never led by less than 11 throughout the second half.

Camien Shell led balanced Parkland effort with 14 points that featured four players in double figures. East’s Khaliq McCummings led all scorers with 19 & sophomore center Zyun Reeves contributed six points & a game-high eight rebounds. The Eagles host Greensboro Page next Tuesday night in Jack Musten Gymnasium in Kernersville.
