Big college football days Saturday for former Guilford County high school footballers, Reggie Gallaspy II(Southern Guilford High School) now at N.C. State and Tre Turner, former Northwest Guilford Viking, now at Virginia Tech….

Reggie Gallaspy(N.C. State) ran the football 24 times for 220 yards and 2 touchdowns on Saturday in N.C. State’s 58-3 victory over East Carolina….
Gallaspy now with 1,012 yards rushing for the season and 18 touchdowns and he also has 1 receiving TD and that gives him 19 TD’s for the season, which is a new N.C. State Wolfpack touchdown record…Gallaspy now with 2,068 yards for his career as a running back for the N.C. State Wolfpack…Not bad for the former Southern Guilford Storm football player, who played for Coach Darryl Brown, while in high school at Southern Guilford HS….

For Tre Turner, from Northwest Guilford HS, it was three receptions for 99 yards and 1 TD for Virginia Tech on Saturday, in the Hokies’ 41-20 win over the Marshall Thundering Herd….Turner also ran the ball for 10 yards for Virginia Tech….Turner on the season with 25 receptions for 495 yards and 4 TD’s, plus Tre also has one rushing touchdown….573 Total Yards for Turner and 5 touchdowns for 2018….Tre Turner has been featured on ESPN’s Sports Center for the #1 “Play of the Day”, when they highlighted one of his outstanding one-handed catches for a TD….

  1. Also a big interception and return by Jarius Morehead (Eastern Guilford) to set up one of the Gallaspy touchdown runs.

  2. Tre Turner was the best High School player that I saw all last season, hands down. You could see that he was LEVELS above everyone on the field. His route running, skill, and speed after the catch were off the charts. Glad to see that he is doing well at Virginia Tech.
