Northwest Guilford Competition Cheer Squad wins Carolina Cup at NCHSAA Cheer State Competition

The Northwest Guilford High School Viking Cheer competition squad won the Carolina Cup yesterday at the NCHSAA Cheerleading Invitational at the Raleigh Convention Center. The Carolina Cup goes to the top overall squad at the NCHSAA Cheerleading Invitational. The Viking cheer squad won the Large Varsity Non Tumble Division and finished 1st overall out of 129 schools participating with an overall score of 85. 2nd place finisher Davie County finished three points back with a score of 82.

Congratulations to all of the members of the squad and Coaches Autumn Pennington Martin and Jennifer Loveday Donovan for the 1st cheerleading state championship in the history of the school.
