Game Report on Page-East Forsyth Boys Basketball:Rivers and Brintley lead EF to win/Ellis and Ballard keep Page in the game

East Forsyth converted six free throws in the final 30 seconds to defeat previously unbeaten Greensboro Page 54-49 in Jack Musten Gymnasium in Kernersville Tuesday night.

The Eagles maintained their slim lead with two FTs each from seniors Matt Rivers & Savon Brintley & sophomore center Zyun Reeves in a game in which the lead changed hands eight times.

East opened it’s largest lead of the game early (11-4), then surrendered 12 of the next 14 points over the the next six minutes before regaining the lead midway through the second quarter. The teams swapped the lead throughout the second half with Page earning it’s largest margin (47-43) midway through the final quarter.

But the Eagles scored 11 of the game’s last 13 points after a Page timeout with 4:26 remaining to earn their first win of the season. Rivers led EF in scoring with 15 points & added five rebounds, four steals & four assists. Brintley added 14 & Reeves had eight points, five rebounds & five blocked shots in his first career start for East Forsyth. Jaden Ellis led the Pirates in scoring with 15.

East’s next scheduled game at North Forsyth (Friday) has been moved to December 17 due to the Eagles’ state 4A semifinal playoff game at home against Matthews Weddington. The Eagles return to the court next Tuesday at home against Ragsdale.
