Elon MSOC: Fahrenholz Receives Google Cloud Academic All-America Honors

ELON, N.C. – Marcel Fahrenholz of the Elon University men’s soccer team earned a spot on the Google Cloud Academic All-America Division I Men’s Soccer teams, as selected by CoSIDA on Thursday, Dec. 6. Fahrenholz was tabbed as a second team selection by the organization.

Fahrenholz is the first member of the program to receive Academic All-America honors since Nathan Dean, Jason Waterman and Matthew Wescoe did so in 2013. The Ober-Ramstadt, Germany, native claims a 4.0 GPA as an accounting and statistics major. This past season, Fahrenholz appeared in all 15 games with 14 starts scoring a goal with an assist while ranking second on the team in total shots.

Fahrenholz was one of two players from the Colonial Athletic Association that was recognized on the Academic All-America teams. William & Mary’s Ryder Bell received third team accolades.

Sixteen of the 33 members of the Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division I men’s soccer teams boast a perfect 4.0 GPA. The 12 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.97, with the entire men’s team holding a collective average GPA of 3.91.
