Former Southeast Guilford QB and recent Brevard College Tornadoes WR Ryan ‘Bubba’ Craven makes it to the DIII National Bowl, played this past Sunday, in Daytona Beach, Florida

Here is Ryan ‘Bubba’ Craven’s roster spot from this past Sunday’s DIII College Football National Bowl, that was played in Daytona Beach, Florida and the former Southeast Guilford Falcon, has done a pretty good job for himself, since he entered Brevard College up in the North Carolina mountains four years ago, and there, after working as a QB his first two years in college, Ryan made the switch to wide receiver and became the top receiver in every major category, in Brevard College football history, and now he was being seen by the NFL and CFL scouts this past Sunday, in the 9th Annual National Bowl….

Not a bad job at all, by the former Southeast Guilford Falcon….

Again, here is his roster spot, from this past Sunday’s National Bowl game in Daytona Beach, and Ryan was with the National team and they faced off with the American team….

BREVARD, N.C. – Brevard College senior wide receiver Bubba Craven will compete this weekend at the 2018 National Bowl, the only current postseason all-star game showcasing the top seniors from NCAA Division II, Division III and NAIA schools. The game, which attracts a multitude of professional scouts, will take place this Sunday, December 9 at 9:30 a.m. at Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Craven, a native of Pleasant Garden, N.C., was named to the 2018 USA South All-Conference First-Team after his record-breaking efforts for Brevard College. Craven concluded his time as a BC Tornado with 101 career receptions for 1,530 yards and 19 touchdowns with a 54.6 average yards per game, which are all BC all-time career receiving records. Craven holds multiple single-game and single-season receiving records at Brevard College as well, including single-game touchdowns (4) and single-season receiving yards (868), receptions, and average yards-per-catch (17.4).

“Bubba’s invitation to participate in the National Bowl was truly earned,” said Brevard College Head Football Coach Bill Khayat. “He worked hard in the off-season and came into camp prepared and ready to perform. Bubba is an outstanding young man, a valued teammate, and an exceptionally talented football player. I am extremely proud that he was chosen to play in the National Bowl. It is an honor richly deserved”

Craven was one of 52 players selected to the National Team which will square off against the American Team in Sunday’s National Bowl. Craven’s National Team will be coached by former NFL player and current Virginia-Lynchburg Head Coach Bobby Rome.

Craven and the other National Bowl participants will begin their all-star bowl experience on Friday with team meetings, player measurements and practice at Daytona Beach Stadium. On Saturday, Craven and his teammates will practice again at the stadium followed by team photos. On Sunday’s game day, there will be a walk-thru practice at 8:30 a.m. followed by the 9:30 a.m. kickoff.

Only the best College All-American and All Conference Seniors in the annual National Bowl presented by East Preps.

The National Bowl is an annual post-season college football all-star game consisting of top players from Non-FBS schools. In the first three years, the National Bowl was played at J. Birney Crum Stadium in Allentown, PA and for 3 years at FIU Stadium in Miami before the move to Daytona Beach Stadium in Daytona Beach, FL in 2016. The National Bowl showcases All-American and All Conference seniors from around the Nation that travel to the game from over 30 states representing over 400+ Division 2,3, and NAIA schools. Players travel to the game from as far as Texas, Arkansas, Oregon, Colorado, Michigan, Utah, South Dakota and more.

The National Bowl is the elite and only current post-season all star game to focus on players below D1/FBS/FCS that get the opportunity to play in front of many NFL and CFL scouts and consistently gets 12 – 15 NFL Teams in attendance. The rosters give NFL/CFL scouts a chance to view and get to know some of the best players from smaller schools over the bowl weekend. The National Bowl is coached by pro coaches and has featured coaches such as NFL Coach Mike Stock formerly of the Green Bay Packers, and other Pro coaches from the AFL and arena leagues. The game has been attended by scouts from the NFL’s St Louis Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes, AFL’s Tampa Bay Storm, and Philadelphia, Soul. All 32 NFL teams receive and review the National Bowl game film and the game has been touted by the Sports Agents Blog as a secret weapon for smaller school prospects.

  1. Good to see him do so well. Goes to show if you can play they will find you. Best of luck, seems like he made the right decision.

  2. Congrats to him. I met him earlier this year and he is a good kid. I saw him play at SE and he showed A LOT of ability then.
