SEG(7-0)/HPC(7-1)
End of 1st Q:HPC 19, SEG 13…Halftime:HPC 32, SEG 28…End of 3rd Q:SEG 54, HPC 46…Final:SEG 67, HPC 55
SEG Scoring:Kennedi Simmons 21 pts., Kristen Roberts 19 pts., Sydney Roberts 15 pts., Raven Preston 8 pts., Shunte Bethea 8 pts…..
HPC scoring:Olivia Stubbs 16 pts., Kiera Williams 12 pts., Valencia Banks 10 pts., Jamela Harden 9 pts., Ty Smith 8 pts……
++++++++++One of the major differences in the game, was HP Central post player Kiera Williams getting into foul trouble early in the 3rd quarter, and while she sat, SEG went to work and took over the game….Williams had 12 points in the first and she was dominating early inside, but in the second half, Williams did not score at all for HPC, and she finished the game, with the same 12 points she had in the first half…HP was hurting with Williams on the bench and by the time she got in the ball game in the 4th quarter, she could not get back into the flow of the game, she had just been sitting too long and she lost her rhythm…Kennedi Roberts, Kristen Roberts and Sydney Roberts got hot from three-point range(10 three’s among those 3 Falcons) and SEG never looked back, and ended taking the victory and the Falcons were in total control, once they took over the lead in this game…..++++++++++

High Point Central boys 58, Southeast Guilford 54
HPC(3-5)/SEG(3-4)
End of 1st Q:HPC 17, seg 12…Halftime:HPC 29, SEG 18…End of 3rd Q:SEG 36, HPC 35…Final:HPC 58, SEG 54
HP Central scoring: Abwok-Dieng 24 pts., Jyree Ford 18, Jamel Marbury 7, Mason Bowers 3, Trent Westray 2, Jumorris Carter 2, Will Gillis 2….(6’8 Junior Mading failed to score for HPC…He got some rebounds, he blocked some shots, but HP Central needs to get this tall, lean kid, involved in the offense….They are working on it, but I would like to see some scoring from this young man.)
SEG Scoring: Lars Nilsen 19 pts., Cameron Kimber 13, Antonio Hooks 8, Cody Fuller 7, Karel Vachutka 5, Kanette Givens 2……

Yes, Kierra is a great player no doubt, but what we are going to do is give credit where credit is due. Southeast, despite being outsized in the post… played a GREAT game. There was a reason she was in foul trouble: The Falcons boast one of the best back courts in the are in All-District/All-Area Guard Kennedi Simmons and All-Conference PG and one of the best shooters in the area Kristen Roberts. Not to mention an extremely talented freshman class featuring 3 girls who starred in the 8th Grade Annual All-Star Game. They didnt get “HOT”. They just did the same thing they’ve been doing all season to get them to 7-0. So much respect to Kierra and the Bison. Great team, and we look forward to the challenge of playing them again in January. But SE deserves some credit for the win. She didnt sit out the entire second half.

Yes, good points and you and I both have given everyone something to talk about and think about….

I have the SEG girls tied at #1 in my Girls Poll for this week, so they did get my attention, that is for sure…..
