Caldwell Academy Athletics Hall of Fame Class for 2018/2019

The following four ( 4 ) individuals will be inducted into the Caldwell Athletics Hall of Fame on January 11
during the boy’s basketball game at approx 7pm.

The Caldwell Academy Athletic Department is pleased to announce Grant Gillespie ( c/o 2011 ) as the first
selection for this year’s Hall of Fame class. Gillespie was a key contributor to Caldwell’s first baseball team.
He was an all conference performer and his 15 wins on the mound rank #1 all time in school history with Clay Young.

In addition to pitching wins, Grant still ranks in the top -5 all time in school history in doubles, home runs,
stolen bases , innings pitched, and strikeouts. He was also the baseball program’s first college commitment.

The second selection is Bill Robinson ( c/o 2011 ) Bill was a four year member of the varsity boys soccer
team. He was a prolific scorer and play maker which earned him multiple accolades. He was a two time all
conference performer, an All-Area selection, and Caldwell’s first NCISAA All State soccer player.

Over his final two season Bill helped lead the Eagles to a 38-9-4 record, a Final 4 appearance,
and a NCISAA State Runner-Up finish.

The third member is Katie Robinson ( c/o 2012 ) Katie was a multi-sport athlete who excelled in soccer
and track. Katie was one of the top goal scorers for the girls soccer program. During her time as a varsity
player, Caldwell went 69-11-8 with an NCISAA Championship and three TAC titles. She was a 3 -time
TAC All-Conference performer.

In track, Robinson helped the Eagles to 4 consecutive conference titles. She was an All-Conference
performer and was a crucial contributor to the 2009 NCISAA State Championship team. She was an
individual state champion on the 200m ( 2009,,2010 ) and 100m ( 2010 )

The final selection for the 2018/2019 Hall of Fame is Bob Black. Bob ( a Caldwell grandparent ) has worked
as the crossing guard for athletic events for 10 years. He is also an avid supporter of the entire
athletic program. He makes a point to know all of the students and frequently, makes appearances to show
support for all the teams. His is also instrumental in getting the successes of the Caldwell Athletic
program communicated to the local media. His support has made a tremendous impact on each
student-athlete, the Caldwell community, and the athletic department.
