GREENSBORO, N.C. — Brianna Allen and Lindsay Gauldin each had 17 points as Guilford College cruised to a 70-41 win over Hollins University on Wednesday night.
The Quakers improved to 8-4 and 5-1 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC). Hollins dropped to 3-8 and 0-4 in league action.
Allen came off the bench to record career-high for points in the contest. She was 4-of-9 shooting and made 7-of-8 free throws. Gauldin added a game-best 14 rebounds for in notching her seventh
double-double of the season. She had double-doubles in four straight contests.
Miracle Walters and Calyn Davis netted 13 and 11 points respectively for the Quakers. Davis also dished a game-best five turnovers for the home team.
Guilford led 38-24 lead at halftime. The Quakers committed 10 turnovers and forced 16 Hollins miscues. Hollins scored five points off turnovers to GC’s 16. Guilford also led in rebounds (49-31), paint points (24-14), three-pointers (7-4) and bench points (21-10).
Keyazia Taylor led Hollins with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Teammate Chesslyn tallied 10 points in a reserve role.
The Quakers play at Shenandoah University on Saturday. Tipoff for the ODAC game is at 2 p.m.
