Elon Women’s Lacrosse Unveils 2019 Schedule

ELON, N.C. – Elon University women’s lacrosse announced its competitive 2019 slate Friday, Jan. 4. Included on the 17-game schedule are nine home games and seven contests against teams that appeared in the 2018 NCAA Tournament, including the defending national champion.

“Once again, we are looking forward to playing one of the toughest schedules in the country,” said Elon head coach Josh Hexter. “Every CAA game we play is a battle. Paired with the non-conference schedule we’ve made will more than prepare our team for competing in postseason play. We strongly believe if we want to be the best, we need to play and beat the best. In our program’s short existence, we’ve shown glimpses of excellence with two Top-10 wins. This year we will try our best to improve on those experiences and raise our level of play to even greater heights.”

After starting the season on the road Feb. 9 against Campbell, Elon’s 2019 home slate will kickoff Feb. 16 when it welcomes ACC-foe Virginia to Rudd Field. Other home games this season include Winthrop, Duke, Florida, North Carolina, Drexel, Hofstra, Delaware and Coastal Carolina.

Following the season-opener at Campbell, other road contests throughout the year include trips to Liberty, Davidson, Virginia Tech, High Point, Towson, James Madison and William & Mary.

This year’s CAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship will be held at James Madison’s Sentara Park in Harrisonburg, Va., on May 3 and 5.

Admission to all home women’s lacrosse games at Rudd Field is free. All game times are subject to change.
