Game Report on Southwest Guilford-Western Guilford Boys Basketball:Keyshaun Langley and Joel Pettiford lead a balanced SWG Cowboys attack/Cowboys improve to (13-0)

Southwest’s busy week continued as they hit the road again tonight for a road conference game.

The Cowboys headed over to square off against the Hornets of Western Guilford.

The Hornets are struggling this season, and are coming off of a loss to conference opponent Mount Tabor.

The Cowboys are turning right back around after last night’s game at Smith, in which Southwest overcame a poor shooting half, to hold off a solid Eagles team to stay unbeaten on the season.

Southwest came out hot, jumping out to a 15-0 lead at the 4:43 point. The Hornets broke the scoreless drought with a pair of free-throws to make it 15-2 at the 3:55 point. The Hornets scored again and it was 15-4, which was as close as they got it on the night. The Cowboys continued to control both sides of the ball and the frame closed at 28-12.

The second quarter was the same story as the Cowboys kept their foot on the gas, and very quickly the half closed with Southwest up 54-24.

The second half ended even faster as the Southwest bench continued the dominate night. The third quarter closed at 74-34.

The final frame was a blink, and the Cowboys cruises to a convincing 83-42 win in the road to stay perfect on the season and improve to 3-0 in conference play.

The Hornets were led by DJ McNeil and Devaron Benjamin with 8 points each. Southwest played a solid team game. Leading the way on the night were; Keyshaun Langley with (15, 8 Asts, 5 Rebs, 3 Stls) and Joel Pettiford with (11, 4 Rebs, Ast).
