NCHSAA Swimming and Diving Championships this week with Diving events at the Greensboro Aquatics Center(GAC)

CHAPEL HILL – The North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) is set to contest the 2019 Swimming & Diving State Championship beginning on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 and concluding on Saturday, February 9, 2019. All diving competition will be held in Greensboro at the Greensboro Aquatic Center, while all swimming events will take place in Cary at the Triangle Aquatic Center.

The top eight finishers in each event at each Regional Meet this past weekend qualified for the State Championship Meet. Full Regional Championship Meet information can be found in the links provided in this email and on the NCHSAA Website.

Diving Championships in Greensboro will begin on Wednesday, February 6th with the 4A Championships. The Women will lead off, starting the competition at 1:45 p.m. while the Men’s Championship will be held 45 minutes after the conclusion of the Women’s competition. On Thursday, February 7th the 3A Championships will follow the same schedule with the Women’s leading off at 1:45 p.m. and the Men following shortly after the conclusion of the Women’s competition. On Friday, February 8th the 1A/2A Men and Women will compete together, with competition beginning at 1:45 p.m.

The Swimming Championships in Cary will begin on Thursday, February 7th as the 4A Championships will be held. The 3A Championships will follow on February 8th and the 1A/2A Championships will be held on February 9th. Competition will start with the Preliminary Heats being held at 9:00 a.m. each day. The Finals of each championship will begin at 4:45 p.m. each afternoon.
