The Phoenix quartet of Chelsea Smith, Natacha Savioz, Melissa Anastasakis and Paige King ran a combined time of 11:40.04 in the race and was fifth overall. The group edged out the previous school-record of 11:41.69 that was set last season and qualified for the 2019 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Indoor Championships.

The rest of the Phoenix competed at the Darius Dixon Invitational at Liberty University, which also concluded on Saturday. Katie Arbogast took the win in the 500-meters as the Media, Pa., native clocked a time of 1:15.31 in the race. Lauren Brzozowski continued her strong start this indoor season in the 400-meters, setting a new personal-record in the event with a time of 56.84. She finished seventh overall in the race.

In the high jump, Moira O’Malley matched her indoor personal-best with a cleared height of 1.65m. She would tie for the runner-up in the event. Elyse King was the Phoenix’s top finisher in the long jump with her personal-record of 17′ 6″ (5.33m). That was good for sixth overall.

Freshman Kristine Strazdite was sixth overall in the shot put with her mark of 13.04m. Skylar Barthelmes was also in the top-10 of the event with her toss of 12.45m. Jordan Haywood ran a new personal-best time of 25.46 in the 200-meters and was 12th overall.

The Phoenix finishes its indoor regular season next weekend, Feb. 15-16, with groups competing both at the JDL Invitational and at the Virginia Tech Invitational.
