College Women’s Basketball News – Guilford’s Walters Wins Second ODAC Player of the Week Award

FOREST, Va. – Guilford College’s Miracle Walters (Elkin, N.C./Elkin) collected the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Award on Monday. This is Walters’ second such honor this season. She won her first ODAC Player of the Week honor January 14.

Walters, a 5-9 junior forward, led the Quakers to conference wins over Randolph College and Bridgewater College last week, securing Guilford’s spot atop the league standings and extending its winning streak to seven. She averaged 15.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.5 steals in the two contests. Walters made 7-9 field goals on the way to a game-high 17 points at Randolph and contributed six rebounds and four assists. On her home court, she made 6-of-7 field goals leading to 13 points against Bridgewater College. She also added three rebounds and two steals.

Walters leads the Quakers’ offense and stands fifth in the league with an average of 15.0 points per game. She sits second in the league with a 56.5% field-goal percentage. Walters also contributes 5.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.

Coach Stephanie Flamini’s Quakers (18-5, 15-2 ODAC), who have clinched their fourth ODAC regular-season title, host William Peace University Monday night at 5:30 pm in their last regular-season home game.
