NORTHWEST GUILFORD 78, GRIMSLEY 70

GAME NOTES:
–Northwest Guilford and Grimsley faced off in a Metro 4-A Conference contest that ended with the Vikings holding on for a 78-70 win. The Vikings got off to a hot start scoring 17 points in the first quarter off of transition buckets and multiple stops on defense. The Whirlies bounced back in the second quarter with a run of their own, scoring 19 points in the quarter to cut the Vikings lead to 3 going into the break. The second half was back and forth throughout as both teams continued to trade baskets. The Vikings scored 25 points in the fourth quarter and made their free throws down the stretch to ultimately win the game. The final score was 78-70.

–Christian Hampton led the Vikings with 25 points. Brandon Thomas had 13 points while Johnny Pagano and Dean Reiber had 12 points on the night. Robbie Boulton had 10 points and Shaq Marsh had 4 points. Landry Garris had 2 points.

–Grimsley was led by Martinek-Jenne with 18 points and Ahmil Flowers with 14 points. Cooper had 12 points while Devin Resper and Cotton had 10 points apiece. Loseke had 4 points. Jenkins had 2 points.
