  1. Grimsley found some offensive shooting range from the Free Throw line in OT and they pulled this one out and you have give the Page Pirates some credit too, they made a strong run in the closing seconds of regulation to get back in the game…

  2. By way of MaxPreps.com, these are the only scores that were posted last night/Monday…Smith and Parkland were not posting for some reason and the same could be said for Mount Tabor and the WG boys…

  3. Mount Tabor over Western Guilford boys, 90-44…
Having to go to Twitter now, since the schools are hitting Twitter way quicker than MaxPreps….

  4. Person County 90 Northeast Guilford 78

Absolutely no defense played the entire game. NE Boys with only 3 wins on the year and a tough one for Coach Hunter. Lost 4 players from last year due to various circumstances

  5. Thanks for that NEG-Person score…That was the only score we were missing from the Mid-State games from Monday…

Thanks again, for sending that in and I hope NEG can get it turned it around…

I still remember doing a NCHSAA East Regional Championship game(In Greenville, N.C./ECU of all places) with Dudley vs. NEG back early in this century and that is back when NEG had Mezie Uzechukwu and I hope I came close to correct spelling on that one….

  6. Now that the basketball season is over for Page, Coach Harder is officially the AD at Page. Big things on the horizon for the Pirates over on Alma Pinnix! (:

  7. Somebody saying the Grimsley boys might be ready to make a run….We will find out for sure tonight, as they take on #1 NWG, at Northwest Guilford…..All fans need to be there in support of your Whirlies and Vikings and I feel certain that the PAGE fans will throw their support to Grimsley, now that Page has been eliminated…

Going to need some noise in that Roger Nelson Gym at NWG tonight and you can also catch Kris Walser and Coach Marlon White with the Southwest Guilford boys game on GreensboroSports Radio 2….They will get rolling with the end of the girls game from Western Guilford and then pick right up with the boys semifinal with SWG vs. WS Parkland….

  8. its okay andy, Page has swept grimsley in basketball more times than the other way around. anyways, Congratulations to Coach Harder again! and we look forward to whats in store for Page’s athletics program moving forward! <3

  9. Coach Harder did an admirable job running the Page boys basketball program and I hate to see him leave it, he really loved the game…He had a passion for what he did…

I wonder if we might not see him back coaching again some day down the road….You never know…They say the longer you stay out of it, the tougher it is to get back in it….

The new coach will not find the cupboard bare….With Ellis and I would think Maxwell back, and if Sellars is an underclassman, Page has a good foundation for the future….Sellars can play that inside game and he hits most of his free throws too…
(Thinking Ballard, Duggins, Clem, all seniors and another kid that can shoot lights out, when he is on, and it is his night, is Whit Edwards…..I saw that #14 come into some games late in the season and that kid can put it in the hole….Another guard I saw playing well last night was the kid Tyler Albright over at Grimsley, with the Whirlies at NWG. If Edwards is back for Page, he can start tomorrow night…The kid can shoot it….)
And back on the Page coaching front….

Not sure if we might see Coach James Abell itching to get back into the coaching game….His son should be ready for varsity in a few more years….

There is at least one coach at another school in Guilford County that would make a great hire for Page, but we will have to wait and see who all has applied for this job, and you know the ballot box has to filled up with candidates…..

We shall see, but with the Page men’s/boy’s basketball history under Coach Harder, Coach Abell, Coach Kent, Coach Morris and all of the other coaches over the years(Hankins, Patty, OTHERS), Page is one of the places any coach would love to hang his hat or his sneakers….
