**********Comments that East Forsyth coach Drew Dull shared with us today/Friday:**********
How big was this win???

First of all, it is definitely a big win. We knew they had not been beat yet this year and we knew they had not scored less than 9 runs so we would have to be very good on the mound. Any time you can beat SE Guilford at SE Guilford it’s an accomplishment because those guys always play hard and especially at home with their students creating a very fun environment.

Your thoughts on your team’s rally and when did you think you might be able to move in front and grab the victory???

I really thought the game was over when Fish hit the ball right to the shortstop, but we finally had a little luck go our way. We’ve had some bad luck in the past few games and it was finally nice to see one go our way. After that, I thought our at bats got a lot better and I think our kids really believed at that point that they could tie the game and take the lead.

I thought we had a good chance to tie or take the lead when Hunter Hutchens, Xavier Isaac, and Jackson May were coming up. All 3 of those guys have the chance to leave the yard or make hard contact to put pressure on the defense. Did not think that Hutchens and Isaac would get walked, but we definitely took it. I think the kids also responded well because we were in the same situation the night before against Providence. We were down 4-2 and had the tying run at second, but just couldn’t score. I think the kids did a great job turning around the next night and capitalizing on their opportunity this time.

How big was Calloway’s finishing effort???

Calloway did a really good job. He’s been bit the last two years by some wind aided homeruns at SE Guilford, but he battled and kept us in the ball game and gave us a chance to win. He almost got out of the bases loaded and no outs jam, but give credit to Fousek on attacking that baseball and driving in 3 runs.

The job turned in by East Forsyth’s closer, Hunter Hutchens:
Hunter did a great job to finish off the game. We put him out there in the 6th to keep it close and it was his game if we tied it or took the lead. He’s our closer and has that mentality. He’s thrown 2 2/3 innings this year and struck out 7 of the 8 batters he faced.
