THE SERIES
The Terrapins (10-8) hold a slight 9-6 advantage in all all-time series dating back to 1998. After Elon claimed four contests in a row during the 2000 and 2001 seasons, Maryland took the next three as the Terps won both meetings in 2015 and earned an 11-3 decision on March 21 last year to end a six-game home winning streak by the Phoenix.

ABOUT MARYLAND
Maryland came up empty at home last weekend, suffering a series sweep to East Carolina. The team has already played another CAA team in Delaware, securing a pair of wins over the Blue Hens on March 5 and March 13. The Terps will also play a pair of home-and-home series against William & Mary on April 2 and April 9 and James Madison on April 16 and May 14.

Maxwell Costes is batting .313 to lead Maryland at the plate. The freshman has also driven in a team-high 19 runs. Taylor Wright follows with a .278 average and Chris Alleyne is hitting .255. Sophomore right-hander Mark DiLuia has yet to pick up a decision and is expected to get the start on Tuesday. He owns a 3.68 ERA through seven appearances and 7.1 innings pitched. Junior lefty Tuck Tucker will get the nod on Wednesday. He is also looking for his first decision and owns a 0.00 ERA across three appearances and 2.1 innings of relief.

GREENLER TO GET SECOND START
Kyle Greenler will get his second start of his career on Tuesday. The freshman pitched 3.0 complete innings and allowed one unearned run on five hits and a base on balls in a no decision at UNCG on March 12. He came out of the game with Elon ahead 3-1. The Spartans then rallied late with a three-run eighth inning to take the first game in the home-and-home series.

DANIELS HELPS SECURE SERIES WIN AT WCU
After a 12-11 win over the Catamounts in extras last Saturday, Mason Daniels was perfect through the first six innings of Sunday’s series finale. The redshirt-junior retired the first 18 batters he faced and did not allow anyone to reach until a hit batter in the seventh inning. He finished the day with two runs (one earned) on as many hits and a walk to improve to 2-0 on the season.

ELON IN THE RANKINGS
Through games played on March 17, Elon is currently 13th in the nation in sacrifice flies (13), 14th in being hit by pitch (36), 16th in hits allowed per nine innings (6.76), and 27th in triples (7). The maroon and gold also leads the CAA in on-base percentage (.386), scoring (6.5), and WHIP (1.27)

George Kirby leads the NCAA in strikeout-to-walk ratio (41.00) and ranks fourth in walks allowed per nine innings (0.30) and eighth in complete games (1). Cam Devanney is sixth in sacrifice flies (4), while Tyler Stanley is ninth in being hit by pitch (10) and 13th in stolen bases (13).

CURRENT ELON STREAKS
Anthony Galason has reached safely in 17 consecutive games, while Joe Satterfield has reached in 14 and brings in a five-game hitting streak.
