Solid Performances Lead Elon Track and Field at VertKlasse Meeting

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Elon University women’s track and field team had several standout performances on the final day at the VertKlasse Meeting on Saturday, March 23, at Vert Stadium at High Point University.

Kathleen Collins was the runner-up and the top collegiate thrower in the discus throw with a toss of 47.07m. That mark is now the third-best mark in school history as Collins finished behind former Phoenix athlete Bryanna Hames at the meet, who threw a mark of 49.20m to win the event.

Jordan Haywood was ninth in the 100-meters with her time of 12.13. That time is now the third-fastest performance in school history. In the 200-meters, Lauren Brzozowski set a new personal-record with her time of 24.65 and was 10th overall. Her time also broke into the program’s top-five performance list.

Katie Arbogast was the Phoenix’s top finisher in the 400-meters with her time of 56.68 and was eighth overall. Brzozowski was ninth at 56.86 in the race. The Phoenix’s 4×400-meter relay team finished as the runner-up with a time of 3:52.79.

Moira O’Malley was sixth in the high jump after clearing the bar at 1.61m. In the triple jump, Alex Tudor was seventh with a leap of 11.49m. Charlotte Bradsher was the top thrower in the hammer throw with a mark of 46.12m.
