NCAA Men’s Tennis Selection Show Party Set at Elon for Monday

ELON, N.C. – Coming off its first-ever CAA Championship last week, Elon University men’s tennis will hold an NCAA Tennis Championships Selection Show watch party on Monday, April 29, in the Gill Room inside Schar Center. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the men’s selection show begins at 6 p.m. on NCAA.com.

Elon stands at 21-4 overall and has won 10 straight matches heading into the NCAA Tournament after winning the 2019 CAA Championship. The second-seeded Phoenix knocked off No. 1 seed UNCW in the championship match, coming back from a 3-1 deficit to defeat the Seahawks 4-3 in dramatic fashion. Felipe Sarrasague is the team’s highest-ranked singles player and is currently slotted at No. 102 in the nation by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). Kyle Frankel, who has a program-record 21 dual match singles wins this season, was named the CAA Men’s Tennis Championships Most Outstanding Player and enters the NCAA Tournament with a 21-4 record. Elon is led by 15th-year head coach Michael Leonard.

The first and second rounds of the 2019 NCAA Tennis Championships is slated to begin Friday-Sunday, May 3-5, on campus sites.
