  1. From several different sources, Hunter Jenks, the head coach at Clayton High School, Home of the Clayton Comets and down below Raleigh and Johnston County, Jenks resigned today, with his team, the Clayton Comets set to face the Richmond County Raiders, at Richmond County, on Friday night, this week as in Friday night…

Myself and Dennis White were down at Clayton two seasons ago when Eastern Guilford was knocking off Clayton in the 3rd Round of the NCHSAA football playoffs and we saw a very good Clayton Comets team, up close…

The Statement today from Coach Jenks, as he stepped down:

Effective immediately, I am stepping down as the head football coach and teacher at Clayton High School. I recognize the timing of this decision will be difficult for those involved. However, my family and I have endured a lot this year and as I step back and reflect, I need to make decisions based on what is best for them. As a result, I have accepted a job opportunity that is closer to my home and will be better for my family.

  2. Gonna be tight with Page and Grimsley at the top of the Metro…The bottom of the Metro might get interesting too, with HP Central and Northwest Guilford in a fight to not bring up the rear of the conference…

The Piedmont Triad 3-A could be right on course…But hoping SWG can crack the Top Three….

Mid-Piedmont 3-A could see Southern Alamance remain among the Top Three with SEG and EG and not Williams in the Top Three….The deal with SEG is still how well they respond at QB…New QB for SEG from NWG…

Mid-State 3-A all about Northern Guilford trying to crack the Top Two and for Northern to supplant Western Alamance and for Northern to move into #2 in the Mid-State 3-A….

The more Guilford County teams up and near the top, the better, and we also hope that High Point Andrews can crack the Top Three of the PAC 7 2-A Conference…Everyone I hear from says Coach Mitchell Jenkins is the right man for the job over at HP Andrews…They say he is tough and that he will have his Andrews Red Raiders ready for this Thursday night, at home in Simeon Stadium vs. McMichael….

Enjoy the look at the Conferences and let’s bring on that “Fresh Friday Night Football”….
