HONOLULU – The 12th-ranked NC State women’s basketball team (8-0) claimed the tournament championship at the 2019 Rainbow Wahine Showdown on Sunday afternoon with a 76-65 victory over North Texas inside the Stan Sheriff Center.

NC State was led by an incredible performance from center Elissa Cunane(Northern Guilford High School). The sophomore scored 24 points and collected a career-high 19 rebounds in the victory.

The 2019 Rainbow Wahine Showdown:
N.C. State 84, Texas 73(Friday November 29)
N.C. State 68, Hawaii 59(Saturday November 30)
N.C. State 76, North Texas 65(Sunday December 1)

In the Saturday N.C. State win over Hawaii:(Elissa Cunane with 22 points and 11 rebounds)
Aislinn Konig and Elissa Cunane(Northern Guilford HS) each scored 22 points in the victory, combing to shoot 18-of-31 (.580) from the field. Cunane also pulled down 11 rebounds to record her third double-double of the season and the seventh of her career. Her strong rebounding performance was indicative of NC State’s team dominance on the glass, as the Wolfpack outrebounded the Rainbow Wahine by a 43-25 margin.
