Game Report on Northwest Guilford-Southwest Guilford Boys Basketball:Ballou leads balanced Vikings to victory at “The Ranch”

NORTHWEST GUILFORD 83, SOUTHWEST GUILFORD 69
GAME NOTES:
–Northwest Guilford played an away game at Southwest Guilford tonight in an early season matchup. The game got off to a slow paced start for the Vikings as the Cowboys clamped down defensively and forced several early turnovers taking the lead by 4 points in the first quarter.

In the second quarter Northwest got going offensively and took a 31-27 lead into the half.

In the third quarter the Vikings maintained their lead and ultimately broke away. The shooting was consistent throughout the second half for the Vikings and they capitalized on turnovers by the Cowboys turning them into easy buckets. The Vikings eventually pulled away winning 83-69 and had six players in double digits.

— Connor Ballou led the Vikings with 18 points and provided a major spark for the Vikings as they pulled away from the Cowboys in the second half. Dean Reiber had 15 points for the Vikings and added 8 rebounds. Brandon Thomas had 13 points while Chris Hampton had 12 points and both distributed the ball well adding 6 assists each. Josh Humphrey and Robbie Boulton scored 10 points each while Shaq Marsh had 3 points and Khari Carson had 2 points.
