Secondary coach Perry Fewell has been named interim head coach. Offensive coordinator Norv Turner will transition to special assistant to the head coach, and quarterbacks coach Scott Turner will serve as offensive coordinator.

Ron Rivera had been the Panthers head coach since 2011, accumulating a 76-63-1 regular-season record — the most wins in franchise history — and 3-4 postseason record.

Rivera guided the team to one Super Bowl appearance, but Carolina has yet to put together back-to-back winning seasons in its 25 years.
