**********Carolina Cobras Name Anson Yarborough Defensive Coordinator**********
Greensboro, NC
The Carolina Cobras announce the hiring of DC Anson Yarborough
Anson Yarborough will be in second season coaching professional arena football. He is a former South Carolina Gamecock, where he played under the “Ole Ball Coach”, Steve Spurrier. As an athlete he kicked off his arena football career with the Florence Phantoms. He continued his career with the Cape Fear Heros, Triangle Torch and won a Championship at almost every stop but most recently with the Atlanta Havoc. He even briefly played for the Cobras last season.
As a coach he actually hit the ground running, obtaining his first career job as Head Coach of the Carolina Havoc taking them all the way to the playoffs of the American Arena League. This season will be his first as a defensive coordinator and he is looking forward to picking up with Coach Res left off and returning the Cobras to the top defense in the National Arena League. His message “I’m a firm believer in letting your game do the talking. Show up, ball, and look good while doing so.”

Head Coach Resignalo “Anson has played for me off and on since 2014 and finished with us last year with the Cobras as a player. He had his first coaching job last year and took his team to the playoffs. He has been around a lot of good football as a player and coach, and has a lot of knowledge, and when I got the opportunity to take over as Head Coach, it was a no brainer to bring Anson in, because he knows my defensive system inside and out as he know what I demand, and he will have the defense ready to go. It is his goal to continue the defensive dominance of the last two seasons with the Cobras. My main goal with a coaching staff is to find people who are bought into my system, not just on the field, but in the community, to make sure that the Cobras are a big part of the community.”
Coach Resignalo will be handling the offensive side of the ball, as he has for most of his arena career.
